§ 2.28.040. Mandatory powers and duties.

  • The planning commission shall have the following mandatory powers and duties:

    A.

    To prepare and recommend to the council the adoption, amendment, extension, addition to and maintenance of the master plan for the physical development of the city, as defined by the laws of the state;

    B.

    To exercise the control provided by city ordinance over the subdivision of land within the city;

    C.

    To exercise the control provided by city ordinance over the zoning plan and recommend or disapprove any proposed change in such plan;

    D.

    To prepare and recommend plans for the clearance and rehabilitation of slum or blighted areas within the city.

    E.

    To prepare as required under the California Environmental Quality Act the environmental review documents for projects considered by the planning commission.
